| Bhavan’s New Science College, a pioneer of Higher Education was established on 17th July 1956 by two great visionaries and dedicated educationists, Late Sri C. Sudarshan and Late Sri G. S. Melkote under the management of Nutan Vidhya Samithi. A band of distinguished scholars, academicians and leaders of erstwhile Hyderabad state joined to provide them science education for the needy students of this region at Narayanaguda in Hyderabad. |

| During the Silver Jubilee Year in 1982, the college was taken over by the internationally renowned. Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan founded by Kanhaiyala Maneklal Munshi with the blessings of Mahathma Gandhi in 1938. Dr.Munshi, the founder of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was a man of great ideas and courage. A philosopher in action, and a multi-faceted personality. He said, "We, the Bhavan's family, whether it is the smaller one or the larger one, must make every effort in restoring the values of Satyam, Shivam and Sundaram-Truth, Love and Beauty-in personal and collective life". The Bhavans programmes are unique and conducted all through its centre in India and abroad. |

| Forging new frontiers of scientific education with vision and mission, over the five decades, Bhavan’s New Science College offered PUC, Intermediate and B.Sc (Hons) in its yesteryears and offers 8 UG Courses and 4 PG Courses in Basic and Applied Sciences which include Add on Courses as well. A variety of teaching and learning support is provided for the Courses. Academic staff has a range of specializations and some of the faculty are involved in research. The institution has produced 12 professionally competent PhDs. The college has been sanctioned with 2 major research projects from ICAR (1956) and UGC (2005). It is honored with 4 Best Teacher Awards from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. |

Computer Laboratory provides computer networking facilities for students to carry out general IT programmes. From this academic year GIS is offered for students in collaboration with Computer Aided Design Work (CADD). |
