Department of the Mathematics was established in 1956 with a mission to improve practical skills and to train the students for further career requirements in Mathematics. The department was started with an intake of 60 students. |
|
- The Department of the Mathematics has 3 members of the teaching faculty who are qualified and experienced. The pass percentage of the department has been satisfactory.
- The department is headed by Dr. K.M. Arjun Rao as a Reader in Mathematics. He has 30 years of teaching experience in Maths. He has papers published related to his
M.Phil thesis (flag traminitive planes) during 1987-89. Basic field of research for his
Ph.D was Mathematical modeling in Population Genetics which was inter
disciplinary work. He was awarded Ph.D degree for the thesis "A Mathematical
Model for Gen e mi grat ion" in 1992. He attended several refresher courses in
Mathematics during the years 1996 - 2000.
- Mrs. K.M. Swarnalatha has joined this institution in the year of 2006. She has completed her M.Phil from Madhurai Kamaraj University in the year 2005. She has
attended faculty level seminar as " Real Analysis " organized by Department of
Mathematics held on 16th
of August 2005 at St. Ann's College for Women,
Hyderabad.
- Miss D.V. Rajeshwari has completed her M.Sc from Osmania University. She has
joined this institution in the year of 2005. They are having adequate knowledge and
they are competent enough to meet the challenges and ambitions of students of
Mathematics in today's scenario.

- Department of Mathematics caters to the resources like books specified by the Osmania University. Apart from the main lending Library there is a provision of issuing books from the Departmental Library which include the simple Unified series
of mathematics Deepti Volume I, S. Chand Volume II, Progather publishers Volume
II and some of the reference books.
- The department is having a computer with an internet facility for staff and students.
- The department has scientific calculators which are issued to the students during their practical classes.

- The college provides all infrastructure facilities to enhance the quality of teaching.
In addition to the black board teaching methods the department develops modern
methodologies which include usage of OGPs.
- The students are made to give seminar talks on specific topics. They are also
encouraged to participate in various inter college competition and are made to
prepare posters, power point presentation.
