DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED ELECTRONICS
The post-graduate course in Applied Electronics offered by the Physics Department was started in the year 1973. This course was of first of its kind among job oriented courses and was useful for all competitive examinations at the National Level. presently the University modified this course with Micro Controller, VLSI technology method, Microwave Systems as special topics.
The Department earned reputation for handling these courses by a strong group of faculty members and is supported by sophisticated laboratories and excellent departmental seminar library. As a part of academic activity for M.Sc. (Applied Electronics) students a one day seminar is being conducted. The Seminar will have invited talks by eminent professors covering latest trends in alternate energy sources and related electronic instrumentation.

DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY
The Department was started in 1956 as an undergraduate Department Late Shree Raghu Ram Rao who was the Head of the Department evinced keen interest and developed the Department with and excellent collection of specimens .Miss Laxmikutty took up active interest in the growth of B.Sc(Hons) Botany major and Biological Sciences at M.Sc level
The Department of Botany has the distinction of running the Postgraduate Courses since 1974. At present the department has excellent infrastructure facilities and expert staff members in different fields of plant Sciences. Self financed courses like Microbiology and Biotechnology (job oriented course) are also introduced a few years back
The Department has been recognized as one of the Research Centers by Osmania University for pursuing Ph.D Programme.

The Department of Zoology
The department of Zoology has been offering a two year M.Sc. course in addition to the conventional B.Sc. Programee. Endocrinology Toxicology, Physiology and phytonematology are the thrust areas of the curriculum are Developmental Biology, Environmental Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biostatistics, and Computer Applications. The department is know for its well equipped research laboratory which has the honour of producing many Doctorates. The seminar library of the department has a good collection of books and reputed journals. The teaching staff is actively engaged in research work, has been participating in National and International Conference and presenting papers as well. The museum- the heart of the department has a unique collection of specimens and can be ranked among the best of the Zoological museums of academic institutions. Recently the department has an honour of getting a sanction of major projects from the UGC. It is also proud to have received a sanction for Career Oriented Courses in Bioinformatics, Medical Biotechnology and Wild life.
